Hope When It Hurts: The Scars That Shape Us

I have a feeling after 2020, we all will bear a few more scars. To say it’s been a tough year is an understatement.

Where do you turn in the darkest of times? What keeps you from despair when the world is spiraling out of control? What or Who do you turn to?

If you have come to the realization that nothing in this world can be depended on, where does that leave you? For me, it takes me to the foot of the cross. I look at the scars of Jesus, proof He took the punishment for sin, and it gives me hope. I know that He never fails, never changes, never leaves me. Through every painful experience, Jesus draws me nearer to Him. Each time He heals, each time he holds me together, it leaves a mark on my heart. I can look to those times and see His faithfulness throughout the years.

These scars shape us and tell others a story of hope.
